We have been shooting weddings and portraits since 2007 and are based in the beautiful historic surroundings of Waltham Abbey in Essex. Over the years we have covered weddings all over the UK and abroad. From a small beach side chapel in Cyprus to St Paul’s Cathedral, London.
As much as I enjoy shooting professionally, I also enjoy getting out in the big wide world with the camera on my days off too. I have always had an interest in documenting graffiti and street art as I have been an active graffiti writer since 1983. It was Henry Chalfant and Martha Cooper’s ‘Subway Art’ released in 1984, that sparked my initial interest in photography.
As a Graffiti artist I had to learn how to use a camera in order to document my own artwork. From that point on Jamel Shabazz's documentary style shots of the early Hip Hop scene, Saul Leiter and Vivian Maier all had a huge impact on my style and I found myself documenting life and the people in the big city where I was born.
As well as my love for photography, my real passion in life has always been to paint and draw. Since I could hold a pencil I was always copying from comics, before moving on to create my own characters and sci-fi and horror themed imagery in various media. As I grew up the graffiti scene took hold and influenced my work even further. From there artists like H.R Giger, Syd Mead, Salvador Dali and M.C Escher to name but a few, have all had an impact on me in some way.
In 1985 I started DJ’ing as a hobby which then grew to playing out at bigger venues. This then led me down a rabbit hole of music production using synths, drum machines and samplers. In 1992 I was lucky enough to sign a record deal and although this didn’t really go anywhere, it did give me insight into the music industry and give me another creative outlet which I still enjoy doing to this day.
